History

In 1736, the Duke of Palerme built the main house as his country house, and the property has remained intact since then.
In November 2013, Karin & Eric discovered Le Domaine de Palerme – and it was the beginning of a love story that had them changing their careers and moving from Paris to Palerme when in 2015 they bought the property and began the process of recreating Le Domaine for the 21st century.

In the 1950’s the famous French writer Albert Camus chose Palerme as his vacation home, and later relocated further south to Lourmarin. Camus found the place inspirational, and spent much of his visits with his close friend René Char, a native poet from L’Isle sur la Sorgue, whom he met in 1946.
